Magnets Attract Sales

Magnet Design
A client recently asked me to create a business card to promote his beef sales. He had a large herd of Angus and the regular market channels weren't satisfying so he decided he'd try to sell directly to the consumer. I thought a design reminiscent of the old fruit crate labels would work best, but we both agreed printing the card on a magnet would make it a powerful sales tool. He handed out the magnets and they found their way to the freezers of customers who were reminded daily where to get the best ANGUS FREEZER BEEF. His direct sales to the consumer increased and he came back a few months later to order another 1000 magnet business cards. Maybe this is something you should try if you need to attract new customers.

Car Wrap Design
If you're like most people in business, doing the actual work is the easy part of the job. The toughest part is making your clients remember your name when they actually need the kind of service you are selling. Businesses use many ways to keep their name out there but here's a unique way that I recently designed for a client. It's a mobile billboard that attracts attention and keeps his name well recognized in the community. You can always "Count on the Colonel" to keep a patriotic theme and promote his service and love for the military. This car wrap features the US Flag and a flag transformed into an eagle holding the military seals. That eagle took me about 8 hours to draw but the results were worth it! Let me know if you need help creating new ways to keep your name in front of clients on the go and needing your work.

Honor Flight - Bluegrass Chapter asked if I could make Uncle Sam give a salute for a campaign to promote an upcoming Honor Flight for World War II and Korean veterans. It was a little difficult to get it to look right, but in the end it was an effective way to grab the attention of the older veterans. Uncle Sam became an icon 100 years ago when James Montgomery Flagg painted it for a cover of Leslie's Weekly to promote preparedness. The image became so popular it was used later to recruit soldiers for World War II. Honor Flight is dedicated to celebrating these heroes with their program. If you know any WWII or Korean War Veterans interested in taking part in an Honor Flight Mission to Washington DC on May 10th please have them call (888) 989-1941 or visit www.honorflightbluegrass.org for more information.

Choice of typeface, color, image, pattern and texture all go a long way to make the image pleasing. Whether I am designing a book cover like these or something as simple as a logo, I work hard to capture the soul of the project and make it shine.
